Fundraiser For Ziggy

Last month, Dave “Ziggy” Zeigler was diagnosed with brain cancer. The local hockey community took it on their own, with the gracious help of Planet Ice,  to have a special fundraiser on June 5th to benefit Dave Zeigler and family.

This special night will be headlined by a Johnstown Chiefs’ alumni hockey game with many familiar names from the 22 year history of the Johnstown Chiefs. In addition, a silent auction will be held featuring autographed memorabilia from the Pittsburgh Penguins and Johnstown Chiefs among others.  Highlighted items include an autographed Sidney Crosby hockey stick, and the chance to join Dana Heinze and work with the equipment staff during a practice at the new Consol Energy Center arena next season. The night will also include food, drinks and entertainment. A skate with the players session will be held following the hockey game.

Tickets for the event will cost $50 for adults and $20 for children. Doors will open at 6:00pm with the hockey game facing off at 7:30 and the skating session to follow. Tickets can be purchased at Planet Ice, Scott’s By Dam, and Ziggy’s Sports or for more information call 814-262-7465 x203.
