Blue Knob State Park features a visually stunning dome shaped mountain range, skiing, hiking, trailbiking, horseback riding, snowmobiling, and much more. The park encompasses 6128 acres of woodlands with an average snowfall of 12 feet. The Park is currently owned, maintained and operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Yellow Creek is 24 Miles from Johnstown.
Yellow Creek State Park is located just off US422 between Indiana and Ebensburg. The Park features an 800ft. Beach, Paddle Boats, Hiking, Swimming, Picnicking, Cottage Rentals, and more! The Park is currently owned, maintained and operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Yellow Creek is 24 Miles from Johnstown.
Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater
The house built into a waterfall designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1936 and built for the Kaufmann Family by the end of 1937. It is the only Frank Lloyd Wright structure still standing with everything intact. It is currently owned, operated, and maintained by the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy. Fallingwater is 41 mi. from Johnstown.
Prince Gallitzin State Park is located Northeast of Patton, PA. The Park is comprised of 7335 acres of property and the 1635 acre Glendale Lake. The park offers hunting, fishing, boating (up to 20hp only), camping, etc. Prince Gallitzin Park is currently owned, maintained and operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Prince Gallitzin State Park is 42 Miles from Johnstown.
Ten miles west of Bedford on US30, Shawnee State Park features 3983 acres of Ridges and Valleys. The main attraction of the park is Shawnee Lake with it’s 451 acres of Water and Wetlands. The Park is currently owned, maintained and operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Shawnee is 47 miles from Johnstown.
Located just off of PA 381 and east of Uniontown PA, Ohiopyle offers whitewater rafting, camping, an amphitheater, hunting and many other wilderness related activities. The Youghiogheny River also runs through the middle of the area. The Park is currently owned, maintained and operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Ohiopyle is 62 mi. from Johnstown.
