Update for 7/3/09 – I emailed Chris (Owner of CK’s Wings and Things) and he informed me that the actual Scoville Unit numbers for his top 4 hottest wings are as follows:
Nuclear Hell II – 6 Million Scovilles
Nuclear Hell I – 2.5 Million Scovilles
Nitro Suicide – 1 Million Scovilles
Embalmed – 800,000 Scovilles

Last nite as the MyJohnstownPA.com Team was out and about gathering info for the site, we happened to stumble upon this awesome story to share with our viewers. We happened to stop through CK’s Wings and Things down on 403 (just outside of Ferndale). Upon walking in we meet a guy by the name of Mike, a counselor from Camp Harmony and a couple of his friends. Mike found it necessary to eat 4 of the “Nuclear Hell” wings from CK’s. The Nuclear Hell wings are the 2nd hottest wing that you can buy at CKs Wings and Things and hit you with a multitude of Scoville Units (The actual Unit of Measurement for how hot a particular food item is.) Within a few seconds of eating the four wings, Mike was on his knees in front of CKs pouring water on himself and down his throat.
After that we talked with the Owner, Chris Kurtz and learned about their 1,101 flavors of chicken wings and the many other foods they make there including sandwiches, pizza, and much more.
The store is located at 1484 Ferndale Avenue in Johnstown and takes Cash Only. They also provide an outdoor patio that is BYOB and are open for every Steeler’s Game 1 hr. ahead of kickoff. CK’s also will accommodate special orders during non business hours.
